Ristorante Dante @ Grand Millenium Al Barsha | The REAL Geordie ...

I have dined at Dante in the past and have enjoyed the experience,? I actually really like the decor and feel of the place, very light and airy with a small outside terrace, bit hot for that now but in the winter months would be lovely. Today to celebrate? my Birthday which was last week Toffee Princess very kindly organised a lunch for myself and 9 of my friends at Dante, Grand Millenium Al Barsha.

We opted for the Business Lunch set menu competitively priced at 99 dhs per head. The menu consists of 5 starters, 5? main courses and three dessert options, and also?includes soft drinks and tea/coffee.? I opted for the Insalata Mista Con Finocchi e Condimento Italiano, mixed mescaline salad with Italian dressing to you and me.?? It came beautifully presented and in good time, however I rather suspect Chef missed the Italian Dressing from the salad as it was rather bland, but I have to say fresh and had good ingredients.

For main course I was delighted to see Calamari Alla Griglia, Grilled Calamari, rocket salad and grilled watermelon.? I was surprised when it arrived to find the Calamari stuffed with goats cheese, it was actually rather tasty, I think it is the saltiness of the cheese that enhanced the Calamari, the grilled watermelon didn?t work on any level.?? Also on the menu which was ordered by a few of the guests was Petto Grigliato, con Funghi Trifolati, Roast Chicken Breast and mixed sauteed mushrooms.? Again beautifully presented but tinned mushrooms???? don?t think so.

I know this review is probably sounding rather negative but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch, just felt I needed to point out a few things to the Management.? If you do give Dante a try, bear in mind that they don?t class water as a soft drink, and they only serve Pellegrino at 20 dhs a bottle, we ended up with a hefty 120 dhm bill just for water. However in all fairness the Manager did rectify that issue and charged us for 3 bottles instead of six.? My argument, as was that of the other guests is that water is infact a soft drink.

They did make a wicked chocolate cake for the Birthday girl though!!! all in all?a good experience, the staff were great, the ambience is lovely and the food isn?t bad.? I apologise for? the quality of the photo?s I left my camera at home so had to use my iPhone.

Ristorante Dante can be find at The Millenium Hotel in Al Barsha, you can contact them via their website, or call them on 04 429 9999. I have? posted some photos on my Facebook page as well.

Enjoy!
