A strong rise in hiring in the technology sector is driving a job market revival, according to a Bloomberg News report.
Demand is growing for computer-software applications and data, with online help-wanted ads for computer and mathematical occupations up 3.4 percent in January from December to the third-highest level since the Conference Board began compiling the data in 2005,?the report?said.
Data from the New York-based research group show there were three vacancies for every job seeker, Bloomberg said, while postings on tech-career website Dice.com are 12 percent higher than a year ago. Vacancies for workers skilled in building mobile applications are up more than 100 percent.
?This feels like the beginning of another tech-driven jobs boom,? Michael Mandel, chief economic strategist at the Progressive Policy Institute in Washington, told Bloomberg.
